Richard completed his training at Jacksonville University and is a licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Richard is trained to treat a variety of mental health conditions in individuals of all ages. Richard currently has privileges at a local acute care psychiatric hospital and has experience helping children and adults who are experiencing mental health crisis. He also has privileges at several long-term care facilities and enjoys working with individuals who are adjusting to life changes that may occur during the aging process; he loves to hear stories of how others have overcome the obstacles and struggles they may have faced throughout life. Richard believes in a patient-centered, holistic health care approach and strives to work together with clients to achieve optimal health, healing, and quality of life. His approach is calm, caring and open-minded and his goal is to create a trusting relationship where his clients feel comfortable talking to him. For those interested in counseling, Richard utilizes solution-focused therapy and motivational interviewing techniques to establish achievable goals. He believes that establishing a consistent routine in the pursuit of healthy goals helps us develop a sense of purpose and leads to feelings of motivation and joy.
